Chong Wei-Lin Dan Final On The Cards - A showdown between Lee Chong Wei (pic) and Lin Dan is a possibility in the Malaysian Open final.

On Friday, Chong Wei and Lin Dan marched into the men's singles semi-finals in contrasting styles at the Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya.

Chong Wei, the 11-time champion, tamed a spirited 21-year-old Jeon Hyeok-jin in what looked like a regular training session with a sensational 21-11, 21-14 win.

Chong Wei takes on world No. 12 Vincent Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong for a place in the final.

The 27-year-old Wing Ki received a free ride into the semis Friday after Olympic champion Chen Long of China withdrew from the tournament due to a wrist injury.

In contrast to Chong Wei, two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan had to work hard to beat a gritty 19-year-old Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-15, 14-21, 21-9 in the quarter-finals.

Lin Dan takes on Son Wan-ho of South Korea in a mouth-watering semi-finals on Saturday.
