Pastor May Have Been Abducted Because Of Conversion Attempt

Pastor May Have Been Abducted Because Of Conversion Attempt -  Investigations into the case of Pastor Raymond Koh (pic) indicate that his abduction may have been connected to his attempt to spread Christianity in northern Malaysia.

It is learnt that a police report was lodged by a few individuals alleging that Koh and two others went to Kangar, Perlis, on Jan 19 and Jan 20 to influence a group of youths to convert to Christianity.

When contacted, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed receiving the report.

“We received a report of him (Koh) and a few others attempting to spread Christianity in the northern part of the country.

“We are looking at it very seriously and further investigation is being conducted,” he said when contacted yesterday.

The IGP said the police report was also considered as a lead into Koh’s abduction.

“Our priority is to find him as soon as possible,” he said, adding that they are looking at all angles.

Prior to this, Khalid had reminded all parties not to speculate on Koh’s abduction as false information might hamper the investigation.

On Feb 13, Koh was abducted from his car by a group of men along Jalan SS4B/10, Petaling Jaya.

CCTV footage believed to be of the incident has surfaced, showing at least 15 men and three black SUVs involved in the abduction.

A part-time Uber driver has since been arrested and charged with extorting RM30,000 from the missing pastor’s son to secure his father’s release.
