Norizman Dies After Crash In Round Three Practice - Veteran rider Norizman Ismail (pic) died after crashing during the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship’s CP150 timed practice session in Round Three at the Bandar Baru Kijal in Kemaman, Terengganu, yesterday.
According to a statement released by the race organisers – Safe Aim Mutual – the 32-year-old Norizman crashed at Turn 1 and slid into the air-fence.
It also stated that the marshals and paramedics rushed to treat Norizman at the crash scene while a red flag was waved at 3.52pm to halt the practice session.
He was then rushed by ambulance to the trauma centre before being sent to hospital on a life support machine.
He was pronounced dead at 4.50pm.
Norizman made his cub prix debut in 2004 and was the CP130 national champion twice – in 2005 and 2011.
Following a meeting with the teams and riders, the cub prix fraternity collectively decided to cancel Round 3 as a mark of respect for Norizman.
