Mixed Doubles Pair Win First Career Title In Russian Open - Mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Cheah Yee See have won the Russian Open for their first career title.

The world No. 152, competing in only their third tournament together, were on song as they defeated Japan's Keiichiro Matsui-Akane Araki 11-8, 13-11, 11-8 in the final in Vladivostok on Sunday.

It is the perfect boost for the pair who are set to compete at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games from Aug 19-30.

There was however no joy for men's pair Chooi Kah Ming-Low Juan Shen and women's singles shuttler Soniia Cheah.

World No. 26 Kah Ming-Juan Shen found former All-England champions Vladimir Ivanov-Ivan Sozonov too hot to handle as they lost 6-11, 9-11, 5-11.

National No. 1 Soniia on the other hand was beaten 9-11, 11-5, 5-11, 11-5, 4-11 by Russian second seed Evgeniya Kosetskaya.
