Scoot Merging With Tigerair — Hear The Roar! - Be prepared to not see any tiger in the air come July 25! It has scooted off!
Confused? To put it succinctly, Tigerair flights will cease to operate under that name anymore and instead will be integrated under the Scoot brand, which is a low-cost long-haul airline operating out of Singapore.
The airlines will begin operating under a common license or Air’s Operator Certificate. The flight designator code for Scoot flights will be changed from the current TZ to TR, the code currently used for Tigerair flights. All flight schedules remain unchanged.
Hence the Scoot website, www.flyscoot.com, will be the sole booking platform for all flights currently operated by both the airlines, while the Scoot call centre will service bookings from both airlines. The existing Scoot-Tigerair check-in counters will also reflect a single Scoot brand.
There will also be a new look sported by the crew with a new uniform rolled out.
These measures wrap up the integration efforts since May 2016, when they were brought under a common holding company, Budget Aviation Holdings.
As part of the integration, the Airbus A320-family aircraft currently operated by Tigerair will also be dressed in Scoot’s livery. The repainting will be carried out progressively and is expected to be completed by mid-2018.
