'Datuk Seri' To Be Remanded Over Assault Of Couple At Klang Bar - A "Datuk Seri" who allegedly assaulted a couple at a bar in Bandar Baru Klang for being too noisy will be remanded on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old man turned himself in at the North Klang district police headquarters here, said North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mazelan Paijan.
He added that the suspect is now under police custody.
"We are questioning him to find out who else was involved during the incident,” he said when contacted here on Tuesday.
It was reported on Saturday that Thoo Kang Wei, 33, needed over 60 stitches to his head and face while his girlfriend Chong Sook Kuan, 31, suffered cuts on her face following the incident last Monday which saw the man and his friends throwing glasses at them.
Thoo claimed that he was having a drink and playing card games with Chong and two other friends at the bar at about 9pm when several men came and complained that they were noisy and they didn’t like it.
Despite apologies, the group allegedly kept harassing the couple and the fight started with the man throwing a glass at them when they wanted to leave.
“We will file the remand order tomorrow for the suspect to assist in the investigation. More arrests will also be made soon,” said ACP Mazelan.
He added that the case is being probed under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
