Six Women Turn Up At Sydney Wedding In Identical Outfits, Insist They Are Not Bridesmaids

Six Women Turn Up At Sydney Wedding In Identical Outfits, Insist They Are Not Bridesmaids - Talk about long odds - not one, not two but six women turned up at a wedding in Australia wearing the same dress, sparking a viral reaction when a photo was posted on social media.

Seeing the funny side of things, one of the unfortunate victims, Debbie Speranza, poked fun at the fashion faux pas on Facebook last Sunday.

"What are the odds?" wrote Speranza, alongside a photo of the six posing with the bride, teacher Julia Mammone.

Another post on Australian fashion brand Forever New's Facebook page read: "You really should start a bridal registry so that your customers can enquire whether anyone else has purchased one of your dresses for the same event."

Speranza's second post has since garnered over 46,000 reactions and nearly 1,500 shares.

The offending outfit, a Debbie Lace Pencil Dress, retails for A$159.99 (RM538) on Forever New's website.

"Make an entrance-worthy appearance in this gorgeous navy blue lace pencil dress, perfectly tailored to flatter and accentuate your figure. Style with nude accessories to keep the look chic and effortless," said the website's description of the dress.

And make an entrance they sure did, with Mammone - speaking to The Daily Telegraph - describing the sartorial clash as "friggin' bloody hilarious".

"At first there were a few dirty looks among the girls in the same dress who didn't quite know whether to laugh it off or go home and get changed," she said.

"In the end we all cracked up about it. It's every girl's worst nightmare, what else can you do?"

According to The Daily Telegraph, Mammone's wedding with her personal trainer husband, Dominic, took place at the Le Montage wedding venue in Lilyville last Saturday.

Speranza said the scene was set when she walked into the reception and saw her cousin in the same dress.

"We started laughing, but then another walked in... then another one... and another one. There were about 200 people," she said.

"A couple of the women were a little bit 'ahhhhh' but then we all saw the fun in it. There's a video of us telling the bridesmaids 'ok if you girls stuff up we are ready'. We were like accidental sisters."

She also denied that the accidental coincidence was a publicity stunt.
