Global Running Movement Arrives In KL - RUNNING alone can be a bore at times especially when you are not able to find like-minded friends who also enjoy the sport.
Worry not, you can now join the adidas Runners Kuala Lumpur and be a part of the global running movement.
Other cities around the world such as Berlin, Bangkok, Seoul, Manila, Munich, Copenhagen and Tokyo have launched the movement attracting thousands of followers on social media.
“We are very excited to be kicking off adidas Runners here in Kuala Lumpur, one of the key cities in South-East Asia, to be a part of the global adidas running community.
To ensure the public understood what adidas Runners KL was all about, an exclusive 8km run was held at Jalan Pinang.
About 130 runners took part in the “mini race” which was flagged off at 7am.
The organisers also brought in pacers holding colourful boards of different finishing times to motivate the participants through the race course.
Upon completing the run, participants were awarded an exclusive adidas Runners KL medal to commemorate the inaugural outing.
They were also treated to a light breakfast followed by a trampoline workout with Jumping Fitness Malaysia and strength training exercises involving car tyres.
For the city run, Mark Williams won the male category in just 31 mins 3secs while Penny Loh won the female category with a time of 34 mins 9secs. They each took home RM3,000 worth of adidas products.
“Adidas Runners Kuala Lumpur will see runners coming together, charging through unique routes in the city, training in classes and wholesome experiences,” said Wong.
He said there would also be expert coaching and pro athlete appearances.
“We will have sessions available for all standards and abilities to help unlock our members’ performance,” he added.
