Enhanced Experience For Guests At Berjaya Times Square Hotel - Complimentary food, free flow of drinks and a dedicated concierge team at your beck and call. Don’t these hotel services sound like a dream?
These days, more hotels are offering club lounge privileges for guests wanting an upgrade. Most people don’t mind forking out extra money for these services, as it includes all of the above plus personalised treatment and exclusivity.
Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur recently launched its Club Lounge, a private space accessible to guests staying in the Club Premier rooms and Club Premier suites. The lounge is situated on the 14th floor of the 45-storey building. It incorporates a sophisticated and contemporary design with exciting new facilities.
I decided to check it out to discover what makes this place stand out.
Upon arriving at the hotel, a team of concierge staff greeted me with warm hospitality. They took my luggage, tagged it and led me to the private reception desk located at the entrance of the lounge.
The lounge’s classy touch struck a chord with me. Its intimate atmosphere and friendly staff certainly added a touch of elegance to the place.
After some pleasantries and handing over my personal details, the reception team assigned me to a room situated on the 20th floor. After receiving my room card, I was whisked away to the lounge for a welcome drink.
Guests can select house-pouring cocktails – or mocktails – at the lounge. I tried the Blue Diablo, concocted with mixers such as pineapple, tequila, blue curacao and lime.
From that moment, I knew I could look forward to a relaxing weekend.
The 325m lounge is designed with handsome brown marble flooring and contemporary furnishing, including comfy beige sofas, throw cushions and retro-printed backrest chairs.
Decorations are kept to a minimum, featuring metal art work that exude a bold and contemporary statement. The choice of instrumental jazz and bossa lounge music helps evoke a sense of calmness.
The lounge was designed to provide for guests on a retreat as well as for business travellers. As an added bonus, guests can also make use of the lounge’s meeting room.
They can enjoy complimentary, all-day non-alcoholic beverages in the lounge, which is operational from 5.30am till 11pm.
In my room, I was pleasantly surprised to find a smartphone for my use. The phone is available for guests free of charge, and can be used during their stay in the hotel and in places with WiFi connectivity.
There were also treats from the chef, comprising chocolates, cookies and cakes.
In addition to this VIP treatment, guests can enjoy evening cocktails served between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the lounge. After chilling in my room for a bit, I headed down to the lounge once again to check out the selection.
Unsure what to have, I tried almost everything on the spread, including canapes, desserts and cheeses. My big fat diet plans flew out the window as I indulged in local delights.
For more value, a complimentary breakfast buffet at the lounge or Big Apple restaurant is served between 6.30am and 10.30am.
The spread was decent, with a combination of local must-haves like nasi lemak, Teo Chew porridge and fried noddles, as well as Western staples like cereal, breads, yoghurt and a live cooking station.
The chefs were on hand to easily whip up anything you fancy, like sunny-side-up or poached eggs, waffles and pancakes.
Don’t have time to iron your clothes? Don’t worry, the laundry services accepts two pieces of pressing on a daily basis, without extra charge. Free WiFi access is available in rooms as well as in public spaces too.
The hotel has a 24-hour personalised check-in and check-out service. Guests can check in anytime from 12.01am on the day of arrival and check out anytime until 11.59pm on the day of departure. Thanks to this flexibility, guests can maximise their stay in the city and plan their arrivals and departures without a worry.
My “staycation” in the city turned out to be an enjoyable one, filled with exclusivity and, more importantly, great hospitality.
