Whether you’re travelling in the (First Class) Suites, Business, Premium Economy, or Economy Class, wining and dining can be quite a gourmet adventure on the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

During the launch of the new A380 in Singapore recently, members of the media were given a preview of what’s offered on board the plane. At the different product galleries, we learnt more about the inflight cuisine, entertainment, and premium items offered to passengers.

Whoever said airplane food was bland or boring would be eating their words because, meals on board the A380 are definitely not. They have been specially crafted by an International Culinary Panel which features award-winning chefs from the food capitals of the world: the United States, Italy, France, Australia, India, Japan, and China.

These international chefs work closely with Singapore Airlines’ local chefs to create special dishes for passengers. In addition, the airline’s panel of renowned wine consultants from Australia, Britain and Hong Kong handpick a selection of fine wines and Champagne to complement each meal.

For those who don’t drink alcohol, there are premium coffee selections including illycaffe’s single origin products, and also an extensive range of tea blends, as well as other beverages.

You can even use Singapore Airlines’ “Book the cook” service, and select your preferred meal from a wide array of dishes.

From Western-style meals and healthy low-fat options to popular Asian and exclusive creations by the International Culinary Panel, this service is available on selected flights in the (First Class) Suites, Business, or Premium Economy Class.
