Shalin Finishes Third In Sweden - Veteran bowler Shalin Zulkifli opened her 2018 campaign with a commendable third place finish in the AIK International Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden.
Shalin, 39, who won three gold medals at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games and steered Malaysia to the World Championships team title in Las Vegas last year, went down 220-226 to Singapore's Bernice Lim in the first stepladder finals.
She earned 20,000 Krona (RM9,800) for her efforts.
Bernice's woman eight-pin handicap came in handy as she edged home favourite Jesper Svensson 240-233 in the second stepladder finals to win European Bowling Tour (EBT) season-opening event.
Another Malaysian Rafiq Ismail knocked down 3,251 pins to finish fourth.
Adrian Ang was also in action but was eliminated in the Final Step 2 hurdle. He finished 25th.
The tournament was participated by 455 players. The next EBT stop is this week's Brunswick Ballmaster Open in Helsinki, Finland.
