Zafrul: Banks Loan Growth To Hit Up To 5% In 2018 - Loan growth for the banking sector is estimated to grow 4% to 5% in 2018, said CIMB group

Speaking at a media briefing in conjunction with the 10th CIMB Malaysia Corporate Day 2018, Zafrul said the gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2017 was above expectations, which translates to a stronger loan growth this year.

“The 4% to 5% expected loan growth is stronger than last year’s loan growth.Loan growth was low last year due to corporates.

“Based on the pipeline of corporates, loan growth looks to be stronger this year,” he said, adding that bond market remained resilient.

Zafrul said CIMB remained on track to meeting its T18 targets by year-end.
