Badminton: Iskandar Zulkarnain Scores Upset In Indian Open - Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin rocked the Indian Open by dumping local star K. Srikanth in one of the biggest upsets of the day.

Iskandar pulled off a 21-19, 21-17 win in 43 minutes over the second seed and world No. 3 to reach the men's singles semi-finals in New Delhi on Thursday (Feb 1).

It is Iskandar's most significant career win since he returned to competitive badminton after a back injury a year ago.

It is also a timely boost for Iskandar, who will be playing as the third singles in the Asia Badminton Team Championships in Alor Setar, Kedah from Feb 6-11.

The Asia meet serves as the qualifiers for the Thomas Cup Finals in Bangkok, Thailand from May 20-27.

Iskandar will take on Sameer Verma of India in the quarter-finals on Friday (Feb 2). The Malaysian has beaten Sameer once - at the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in 2012.
