Mat Sabu: Pakatan Facing An Uphill Battle In Terengganu

Mat Sabu: Pakatan Facing An Uphill Battle In Terengganu -  Pakatan Harapan admits it is facing an uphill challenge of winning votes in Terengganu where the battle is mainly between Umno and PAS.

Pakatan deputy president Mohamad Sabu said many Malays in the east coast “still fear” that the Chinese would take over if the opposition coalition won in the country.

“Pakatan needs to work harder here in Terengganu.

“The non-Malays here are too little. The Malays are still afraid of Pakatan because they fear that if Pakatan wins, the Chinese through DAP would be in power.

“To reverse it is not easy,” said Mohamad after a Pakatan GE14 rally at Padang Astaka here.

The Parti Amanah Negara president said Pakatan will rely heavily on new media in its campaign to woo voters.

“In today's world, the best way to reach out to the people is through new technology. Tonight's huge attendance was achieved through new media. We did not have to put up posters everywhere,” said Mat Sabu.

Thousands of people showed up to watch Pakatan’s first mega rally in the state, which featured the coalition’s chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The former prime minister in his speech took a jibe at PAS for having a huge number of party flags along the roads in the state.

“Upon arriving here, I was impressed to see so many PAS flags, even outnumbering Barisan Nasional flags.

“Yet tonight at this rally I see thousands of human beings. Which is more important, to have more flags or more people?

“I hope all of you here will be voting for Pakatan Harapan on polling day,” said the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman to loud cheers from the crowd.

Also present at the rally were state Pakatan component party leaders, Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Ahmad (Amanah), Azan Ismail (PKR) and Datuk Razali Idris (Pribumi).

The crowd were also introduced to the Pakatan candidates who will be contesting all 32 state and eight parliamentary seats in Terengganu.
