Zulfadli Appeals For BAM Aid To Pay Match-fixing Fine - Independent shuttler Zulfadli Zulkiffli (pic) has submitted an official letter to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to garner financial support to pay for the fine imposed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on his match-fixing case.
The 25-year-old Zulfadli and his father turned up at Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara yesterday to deliver a letter to BAM president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria.
Zulfadli is pleading to BAM to help pay his fine so as to enable him to make an appeal to BWF on his 20-year ban for match-fixing.
BWF have fined Zulfadli and another independent shuttler Tan Chun Seang US$25,000 (RM98,000) and US$15,000 (RM59,000) respectively for the offence.
BAM’s general manager Michelle Chai confirmed that Zulfadli had sought financial help.
“Zulfadli and his father were here. The BAM’s rules disciplinary committee will deliberate on his appeal,” said Michelle.
